How can I repair my pine hardwood floors that my dog scratched?

My floors had been revarnished, and now it
looks like someone took a screwdriver and scratch them all over in the top coat is peeling off. I cannot afford to have them professionally redone.

Donna Welbron Simmons - If the scratches are deep you can buy a wood filler to fill in the scratches. The wood filler when dry will need to be sanded. This area will need to be stain to matched the existing floor and re s-sealed. This is done with all hand tools. For a larger aera you can rent a small floor sander or a Walk behind sander.

We tried that, The sealant that was put on by a professional is too strong the floor sander isn't strong enough to take it off, it skips all over the place.

You said revarnished. Did you mean sealed with polyurethane? Each requires a different method. If unsure, ask the co. that did it. Then I can help, or a woodworking student at a school can do it for extra credit.

If you tried and even a sander didn't work, I think that I would go to the company who installed the flooring and ask. It seems like you need something specific, possibly. Good luck!!!
