Is subfloor wood or concrete? Either way check for mold. Green or black mold needs to be treated before putting new down. Any glue then you scrape. Any bend in wood ( downwards) home depot already has premixed ready to go wood filler so you can even out flooring. Any cracks etc. In the concrete home depot has premixed concrete ready to go. Is this what you were asking for.
I would suggest using snap together vinyl floor planks after you replace the sub floor! They are very easy to install, look like lamenate wood floors, and are water resistant. We used the stick down version (not recommended) in our home and although they looked nice, over time they started slipping. The company replaced them (thankful for 30 year warranty) and we are currently in process of replacing with the snap together version. I have a few friends who put them down not long after we put down the stick down ones, and they have worked out nicely! We chose them because of they are water resistant, and the fact that if a piece were to be damaged, you are able to remove it and replace with a new piece! So buy a little extra to have on hand. We have not had to replace any due to damage because they are really durable. They are rather cost affective as well! We purchased ours at Lumber Liquidators and they have been installed for over 2 years, look nice, easy to keep clean, super easy to install, and we wouldn’t be replacing them if they hadn’t started shifting, again, that wont be a problem with the click together flooring! They have a fairly large variety to choose from as well! Good luck! We replaced our flooring due to water damage as well. 😔
If it's wood and was damaged you just cut it out and replace with new wood.
