What about a floating floor. They have laminate floating floors at Home Depot that lock together and have a peel and stick back. We used a floating floor in our laundry room and it gives the look of hardwood. Another idea- we put a gym floor in our basement over the concrete from wall to wall. It has been awesome!! It is a black so it will have to be vacuumed a lot but you just vacuum it like a hardwood floor. The kids love jumping around down there and because it has so much give, I don't worry as much about them falling. We use that as a playroom/gym/ video gaming room so it all depends on what you would want to use the room as. Good luck. These are just 2 options. There are a ton of other ideas I have seen including painting or staining the concrete that would make the concrete beautiful. Good luck!
Vinyl wood planks
You can put down laminate, engineered wood, tile, anything you want.
If your basement has had any problems with high humidity/moisture condensation/water, it would be wise to avoid any wood product.
we used tile (large ones) it is easy to clean and durable and not hard to put down
You can put down any type of flooring. For basements, kitchens, and baths I recommend vinyl plank flooring. Laminate swells if it gets wet, seams can separate. Edges can chip and crack.
