How do I get rid of water damage on wood floor?
i have oak wood floor with a water based varnish. some water got on the floor when i was watering plants and i didn't notice it until later. now the wood is discolored. guess either the water based varnish isn't good or the man who varnished didn't apply enough coats. how do i get rid of the darkened stains?

If it was me I'd do the repairs to the floor, then have entire screened (lightly sanded), then have oil based polyurethane put down.
Hi Lauren. To remove water damage on wood, make a paste with olive oil and salt. Apply this paste on the water stain and let it set for at least one hour. Then wipe it up. The salt will pull out the moisture and the olive oil will replenish the wood. Good luck to you Lauren.
