How do I redo the floor of a carport turned garage?

The floor is part asphalt and part concrete, it's very dirty and the asphalt is not hard in some places. I would like for it to have some color and be more durable but I cant afford to replace the whole floor.

Jeannie, my first question would be, is the asphalt safe for a family room? If not, you have to get that fixed first. If the asphalt is safe, clean out all the crumbling parts you can. Use a product like Sakrete to fill in all the missing areas and to level out the flooring. After you have smoothed the floor, then paint with cement paint, or use indoor/outdoor carpet, or use throwrungs when you want to. I suggest going to YouTube and watching several videos on redoing garage floors. Best wishes, Jeannie. ☺️
