Hi. I want to remove popcorn from my bedroom ceiling and hide fan wire
Want to hide fan wire in concrete ceiling and attach it behind shitrock to electric outlet. Any tips on how to remove a popcorn ceiling?
Big job! Spray with water and scrape- remove furniture and cover everything with tarps. Then you will have to sand, mud, sand, the drywall underneath and then paint.
put up ceiling tile
Years ago I used a wide metal turner and scraped it off. Very labor intensive but it worked !

Try spackling right over the popcorn, then paint
Use a garden pump sprayer. Fill it with plain water. Lightly mist one section about 4x4 at a time. Let it sit for about 45 seconds, then scrape with a wide scraper. The popcorn will fall right off. Be sure to cover every surface within 100 miles because it makes a huge mess! :)
water and putty scraper but make sure you cover with plastic or something. usually very messy. Good Luck!
Irregardless of what tools you use, the removing of popcorn ceiling requires a certain amount of agility and strength in the neck and shoulder muscles. The position of head back, looking up, and reaching up with arms above head, can be very fatiguing and cause pain if a person is not used to working in this postion.
