The edges have swelled and are curling. I do not have replacement piece. Could I sand the edges down and paint it or stain them?
You can use furniture markers, for the scratches, not much you can do with a dent.
Hi Jasmin. Dented plastic needs heat to expand. So using a cloth folded over several times, put an iron that's on a cotton setting on the cloth. Leave it for no more than a minute or two and check the dent. Repeat as needed to expand the laminate so it rises. Good luck!
Replace the damaged pieces if you have any extra from when the floor was installed.
Hopefully you have some extra pieces leftover as replacing that piece is your best bet.
I also have laminate flooring. For the dings and scratches I used some nail polish. I bought two shades that were close to my floor color. I have light colored laminate so I was able to buy a light and medium beige polish. Once dry it is almost impossible to see the places where the laminate is missing.
I have tried the caulk they offer in the flooring section, but it easily washed out. The nail polish was the best.
Hope this helps.
Someone here suggested a press cloth and iron, worth a try. I agree to add color/stain to white edges if visible. You can buy lino sealer /glue or you can also use super glue. I wouldn’t patch unless it’s absolutely necessary.
I have used wood filler that comes in a pencil type form, by minwax, almost like a crayon , not the marker kind. if you can find the correct color to match your flooring, you can fill in the dent with that, and can also melt it, to help fill it in better. Hopefully, they still make these.
I dont think there is anything you can do to laminated floer
