If it is hardwood, you can sand it down, restain and poly.
hydrogen peroxide or actually have product called wood bleach

Wood bleach and then it needs to be replaced-sealed.
Unfortunately you'll need to redo the floors. Who ever you hire should be able to deal with any dodgy areas but be sure to discuss it before the contract is drawn up.
