How do you put crown molding up correctly?

Our crown molding is up all wrong in our family room help. How can we correct it?
I just saw that Home Depot had a DIY class on this. Also check out Youtube for videos. That is not an easy job.
For DIY, it is best to use the corner blocks rather than trying to get a metered corner just right.

That might be baseboard and not crown to begin with! They do sell a "guide" to help you cut the molding as it is a little backward thinking! Good luck!
It should be cut at a 45 degree angle at the corners. If u want to keep the existing molding, you could cut it back and put a decorative corner piece up.
make a template for inside corners and one for outside corners using shorter (+- 2 ft long) and use that to line up your mitre saw.
