How do you remove painted popcorn texture from ceilings?

In our case, this is 50s popcorn texture, back in the 80s I brushed the loose texture off, leaving the rest there. Then I painted two coats of Killz over it. Took me three summers to do the whole house. Can that stuff be totally removed now?

I have a feeling it would be difficult. If you can afford it, covering them with drywall, or ceiling tiles might be a better solution.

I don't know if the Killz sealed the popcorn plaster or not. The best way to remove the ceiling is to mist with warm water ,to loosen the plaster then scrape off. If you go to " Handyman .com" and search popcorn ceiling removal,it will give you the complete way to remove.
