What kind of tile do you have Carolyn? If it is vinyl tile and there is no damage and you have a smooth floor you just place your hardwood planks over the vinyl tiles. I am assuming that you are installing click flooring. It will add some height to your doorways so make sure you don't have to trim your door. If it is ceramic/porcelain tile the best thing to do would be to remove that tile.

another option would be the laminated floors that look like wood they are easy to maintain and some are even water proof
Wood/Laminate and waterproof is as much an oxymoron as Jumbo Shrimp! They do make vinyl snap together planking....even planking that has a peel and stick (to each other) edge. Nothing beats a blank canvas! Take it back to the subfloor and rebuild it!
Hardwood is not a recommended floor covering for bathrooms, due to it being, as Mark referred to, not waterproof.
Covering bathroom tile with any additional flooring is also not recommended unless you have pre-solved all the resulting problems with the toilet height, door opening, and the transition pieces to the adjoining rooms.
