I would have a contractor come out to make sure it is not structural/foundation issues before I fix the floors. If it is foundation issues - get it fixed and it will be expensive before you do anything with your floors.
Old house.... probably and old foundation.... Check with Home Advisor or Angie's List to find a structural engineer to come out and evaluate your foundation... they can give you the correct information on what needs to be done and the best people to do it right. It might be expensive... but once done, you won't have to worry about it anymore.
