The squeaking can be solved by surface nailing or bracing from underneath. Depending on the condition refinishing is cheaper than replacing.
Hard wood floors can be made not to squeak. It has something to do with the settling of the home and the wood drying. When we bought a new home it developed squeaks within a year and the original installers came out and fixed them. Talk to your local businesses to find someone to repair it. It is not difficult to do for them. I would try asking your home improvement stores who you should call or talk to about hiring someone to fix the squeaks in your hardwood floor. They will be glad to help and recommend someone, perhaps someone they know.
The big box stores have a kit to fix squeaks under the carpet. If you don't have carpet, maybe it will work on bare floors too.
