Can I pull up carpeting and paint the concrete floors underneath?
Our house was built on a concrete slab. I love the tile & the wood floors. But I hate the carpet in the bedrooms. Eventually hope to replace the carpet with wood. Has anyone ever pulled up the old carpet & padding & painted the floors & been happy with it? So tempted to try this in the Master BR & sitting area. And maybe use a couple of nice area rugs in there to break up the painted space.

Sure you can. You can even have the concrete "polished" and it looks really cool too. If you want to paint, here is how.

Yes. Go for it. And if you want later you can add tile or wood later. Have fun

You certainly can! Just remove everything you can and sand/clean it as much as possible. It will give you a fresh start for the paint. Best of luck!
Just remember that slab will be cold, and moisture might wick through it, and it could be rough, have adhesive on it, and have cracks you will have to deal with. So you might have to get a diamond grinder to get it smooth, fill any cracks and where the carpet tack strips were, and then seal it before painting.
