Deb McGee on Nov 03, 2015Years ago, I scraped my mom's ceiling & recently we had a local painter scrape ours. I scraped them completely flat, She left just a bit of texture. That made a great effect!Helpful Reply

Marion Nesbitt on Nov 04, 2015Painted popcorn is really hard to remove. draggonfire has the best solution if the ceiling hasn't been painted. If it is painted, then I'd get a wallpaper steamer, score here and there to let the steam do its work.Helpful Reply

Deb Yates on Nov 05, 2015Be very careful as you scrape to keep the blade flat. We just spent $3000 to correct the horrible diy job previous owners did to all the ceilings in our home. They all had to be hand sanded and replastered. You can not imagine the amout of dust this has created.Helpful Reply
