Hi. I want to remove popcorn from my bedroom ceiling and hide fan wire
Want to hide fan wire in concrete ceiling and attach it behind shitrock to electric outlet. Any tips on how to remove a popcorn ceiling?
Might be more cost effective to have it refloated and painted.
I think you mean the plaster popcorn ceiling. If it's never been painted you can scrape off with a wide mouth putty knife and wash down. If not too lumpy you can just drywall over it with 1/2 inch drywall, screwed into joists. Finish smooth.
Wet down with warm water and scrape with this tool.

Make sure you protect walls, floors, and yourself because it is a messy job.
is it stucco? pretty hard to get off without damages. Stucco finishes have many of the same benefits as the popcorn texture. However, thestucco look is a more high-end finish and requires additional troweling and maneuvering of the plaster. ;plaster a little harder plastering over is easier;drywall texturing much easier spray well with 1/2 downy and half water mixture then scrape with putty knife easier to remove than clean up make sure to put down tarps and limit access while doing it tracking thru house since most of itmay contain asbestos(depending on age of house). as long as it's dry fibers are not flying around in air it's safe to do yourself wear mask.
