All things to consider. Hardwood is extremely popular. Polishing the concrete as is could be an option. Tile is beautiful, but hard on your feet and back, get pro gel mats for standing long periods of time in the kitchen. Can also be heated. Comes in a vast variety of styles to compliment any style home. Down side is cleaning grout.

Vinyl products are also popular. Easy to clean and maintain and takes a beating. Also is available in many styles.

    Hope this helps a little.

Sealed hardwoods for homes where everyone removes their shoes at the door. Use in kitchens only if humidity will not adversely affect the wood. Hardwoods can be resanded and refinished, multiple times. They can be adversely affected by intense sunlight, over time. Animals' nails can scratch some hardwoods.

Engineered hardwoods for light use, where dropped items pose no danger of denting the floor. These can generally only be resanded 1x. They are not good with pets.

Laminates are ill advised in homes with animals. They can be easily destroyed, over time.

High quality porcelain flooring, only if nothing will be dropped that will crack the tiles. It's not advised if you spend many hours on your feet, have small children, or are elderly with mobility issues, due to injury potential. It will not be as sound absorptive as wood flooring. Water spills must be immediately dried to preclude slips and falls.

Luxury vinyl floors work well in humid areas, are generally easy to clean, and soft underfoot. They may be prone to damage, under specific conditions.

Rugs are great for children and those sensitive to cold. They are terrific sound absorbers, particularly between floors and on staircases. If you want the look of carpet and hardwoods, consider area rugs with padding beneath the rugs. Wool is anti microbial, but very costly. Some brands are significantly more pet friendly.
