What can I do about gaps in my laminate flooring?

I installed laminate flooring in our cottage near Kingston Ontario, Canada. Temperatures can drop to -35F in the winter. The cottage is not heated. The flooring is in the kitchen and is under the fridge, stove, a large island. Gaps have appeared as the flooring separated in places. The gaps do not close when the temperature rises.
I do not want to remove the flooring and start over . Suggestions, please.

Your laminate is not snug to the wall so there is a space for the laminate to spread, it has nothing to do with the temperature, place wedges, thin strips to fill in the gap, tap all your laminate snug then install the wedges, that way your floor has no where to move when walked on.

Put a short piece of 2 x4 on the board that needs a gap to be closed with double sided tape. Put foot on the 2x4 and tap it with a hammer so that the floor board slides into the next floorboard. You may have to do that all away across the row to close new gaps that open up.

Hi there, you can either use an inexpensive tool. It's shaped is about 12 inches long with a tab on each end facing opposite directions so you can 'hook' one end over the end of the plank and tap the other end with a hammer to make it slide within the groove. Or use your feet. Apply wood glue in the gap, kick the boards together with your foot or a hammer and a piece of scrap wood in the gap on the other side, and then tape the now-glued-together boards with a couple pieces of masking tape or blue painter's tape. Wearing sneakers helps. They have a better grip on the laminate.
