What options do I have for repairing my cement basement floor?

I want to stay with the cement floor in my basement but it is rough in places and in some spots the cement is chipping and flaking. What can I do myself that is fairly easy for someone with some DIY experience? I have looked at cement sealers that you can tint but not sure if that will adhere properly.

You can purchase products to patch the concrete at the hardware store. Then paint the floor in a fun color with paint made specifically for concrete. Then get some area rugs to warm up the space and cover any imperfections. Good luck with your project Csaya!
