What's the best way to remove backsplash tiles?

I'm considering cutting through the sheetrock to remove tiled area, and replacing sheetrock. I'm looking for the easiest method, of course 😂

Here's a link how to do it w/out cutting out the drywall http://toolboxdivas.com/2015/05/tile-removal-101-remove-tile-backsplash.html

Actually that is exactly what I did! I had Z Brick (fake brick veneer) for my back splash. Thought of peeling the brick off, patching the drywall where needed and putting up new tiles. Once I started the drywall was peeling off with the brick. Happens the adhesive was also the mortar joints. I just decided to cut the drywall under the cabinets and even with the countertop with an oscillating multi tool.. Replaced the drywall. primed , and retiled.

Since you've tried both ways, do you feel that cutting the drywall was the "easiest" method? I think my tile is going to tear up the drywall as well, plus create a huge mess!

Yes it is the easiest way. Less mess, less work, and quicker.

The fastest way is of course removing the sheetrock, but not the cheapest. I usually just chip off the tile carefully and then even out the wall if I am putting up another tile backsplash. This really does take the most time and if you are not careful you can pull pieces of sheetrock with the tiles you are taking off anyways.
