You can either paint them and make them look rustic looking or cover them in carpet or what we did one time was picked up a lot of wooden pallets and ripped them apart...laid them down for a very rustic look, drilled holes where the nails/screws go and then put wooden plugs on top of the screws … sanded them and then stained them in our choice of colour. We had many compliments on our finished project.
