Gather your garden goodies and wash them with this easy Dollar Store hack!
There are many pricey gathering baskets out there to make bringing in your garden goodies easier. Luckily using two laundry baskets from the Dollar Tree gives you the same convenience at a fraction of the cost. Purchase two baskets from your local dollar store. One should have open sides and be slightly smaller. The other should be enclosed (and handles) are a big bonus.
Simply place the smaller basket into the larger. Then use the handles on the larger basket to carry them from row to row (or box to box) and fill with your ripe produce. Since it's easy to set on the ground, you won't have to worry about dropping fruits or veggies. Simply set them inside and keep on harvesting.
Once your basket is full, or you've picked all you can, carry your basket to the water hose. Gently rinse off your day's pickings, so you aren't carrying extra soil and dirt into the house. Once the veggies are rinsed, lift out the inner basket and let the water drain off.
Your inner basket is clean and ready to take in the house. Use the water in the bottom basket to water any plants that need it. There's no wasted water, and no soil covered countertops!

Loved the idea, went to Dollar Tree and purchased the two baskets. Used the large one for leaves from veggies and weeds that later went to compost. Gathered veggies in slotted one. Rinsed and drained, used water for plants. So easy. Thank you.

why do you need the outer basket. Just use the one with the holes rinse your veggies and let the water drain onto your yard
