    Can't go wrong with hosta lily. Lily of the valley is another tried n true. Impatiens are good annuals. Jacob's Ladder.

    Better Homes and Gardens published a book called Step by Step Shade Gardens. It has 31 pages with 5 colored pictures to a page of nothing but shade plants and shrubs. It also has designs you can copy. Much better than just planting the same old boring "tried and true".
