Can't go wrong with hosta lily. Lily of the valley is another tried n true. Impatiens are good annuals. Jacob's Ladder.

astilbe, various hostas (look for white feather or other different coloured foliage hostas), tulips, daffodils, english bluebells for spring, lily of the valley, forget me nots, bleeding hearts

Better Homes and Gardens published a book called Step by Step Shade Gardens. It has 31 pages with 5 colored pictures to a page of nothing but shade plants and shrubs. It also has designs you can copy. Much better than just planting the same old boring "tried and true".

Use Hostas many varieties from large to small
