This picture shows these plants to be very crowded. They need to be divided and given room to grow and then you will see flowers.

Simplest and absolutely true answer. Short and to the point!

Let me start out by saying that looks great. I saw this project in Hometalk. I love it.

It could be not enough sun or water. It could also be that you have too much nitrogen. If youhink your sun and water are good, you want to switch your fertilizer with one that has higher phosphorus than nitrogen. But because you have them planted in a planter, it could be that this hasn’t been allowed to go dormant. You will need to provide it with a dormant period. Allow it to go bone dry. The foliage will die back and the plant will appear to be dead. Place it in a cool (not cold) dark place for two months. After this, bring it back out into the light and resume watering it. The foliage will regrow and you calla lily plant will start to bloom shortly thereafter.

Donna is right. There just isn’t enough room in that container for it to grow at all. Put it in the ground in the fall and water and fertilize and it will become a large beautiful plant that will spread growing larger as time goes on.

    Good luck

Separate a few out for planter..put rest in the ground..they spread just like day lilies so maybe you'll see more in next blooming..depending on your winters you can dig up or heavily mulch..my aunt used to put newspapers down then cover with raked up leaves and xmas tree branches..

They need room to spread the roots, try a larger container and fertilize them.

Your calla lilies are too crowded; 12" is recommeded between new plantings. As to lack of blooms, too much nitrogen will produce beautiful vegetation without blooms. Too little water and too little sun can also cause a lack of bloom.

But an overlooked cause is lack of a dormant period. The species aethiopica and odorata bloom from late winter to early spring. Most others bloom in the summer. After potted callas have bloomed, move them to a less visible spot and stop watering them. The plant will appear to die, but it will only be dormant. Cut back the dead foliage and place the pot in a cool (not cold) dark place for two months. After this you can bring it back out and resume watering. New growth will commence and the plant will begin to flower thereafter. Since your plants are too thick in their current pot you should remove the rhizomes/tubers from the pot and store them in dry peat moss or coconut fiber during the dormant period, then replant the tubers in new pots.
