Sue Kiene on Jun 23, 2016Sorry but that is actually backwards. Needs 14 hours a day of darkness and 10 hours of bright light. 6 weeks of this. Less water. Cooler temperature. Needs to think it is winter. Planting it outside is ok for now but make sure you don't let it get sunburned.Helpful Reply

Sandy on Jun 23, 2016I have several and they bloom in the early, mid winter because of the light. I feed them regularly and just wait patiently. I've even had cuttings in vases bloom, but in the late winter or early spring time.Helpful Reply

Patty A on Jun 23, 2016Neglect!! Mine bloom all through the yeAr, inside and out. No fertilizer, barely any water, root bound and all. I cut any leggy stems and root readily in a bit of water. Even these bloom while rooting! My sister's has been blooming for years in a sunny window, and, I'm sorry to say, her 'black thumb" gives it no care. It's always sitting there with dead blooms and dry as a bone, but seemingly happy while I'm deadheading the poor thing. Pinch back the New growth to keep it bushy, any leaves that fall will root themselves if placed on semi dry soil and left undisturbed. The worst thing you can do , it being a succulent, is to overwater. I prefer to keep in pots so I can control that.Helpful Reply

Kathy Montour on Jun 23, 2016Just make sure your fertilizer doesn't have a high number of Nitrogen, NPK, Nitrogen keeps things green but if you use too much it won't allow the flowers to come, I would get some bloom boosterHelpful Reply

Sue Kiene on Jun 23, 2016Not uncommon really for it to bloom and bloom and bloom. Then it stops. The winterization process will bring it back on.Helpful Reply

Angie on Jun 24, 2016I live in South TX., my kalanchoes bloom only twice a year, whether planted in the ground or a pot. They bloom in the Fall & in Spring when weather is fairly cool. I've never heard of a way to force them to bloom but I do not know everything.Helpful Reply

Marilyn Zaruba on Jun 26, 2016I live in North Texas and mine puts out a beautiful display that last a long time in the spring. It is in a clay pot and now sitting outside since it winters on a south-facing window seat. As soon as the blossoms started to fade I cut them off so it could rejuvenate itself and now it is putting on more buds for the fall, but they won't be as spectacular as they were in the spring. IF there is a way to force them, I've never heard of it. BTW, you need to lift that plant before winter...it will not survive in N. Tx so I doubt it would do any better in Mo.Helpful Reply
