How do I get my daffodils to bloom?
My daffodils have buds but bloom much later than everyone else's in the neighborhood. They always bloom but they're at least 2-5 weeks or more later than the neighbor's. All the neighbors have them in their yards and spread out haphazardly.

I know that opinions vary, but what's your opinion?!I have great luck w Rosemary plants. Green all year long.
It might have to do with how deep in the ground the bulbs were planted. The deeper the planting, the longer time it takes to come up. I plant my bulbs (daffodils and tulips) in a range of depths so I have a long flowering season.
There are different types of daffodils, just like tulips. My neighbors had owned a nursery for yeard. They're yard was in bloom in the spring much longer than any one else's in the neighborhood. Then they told us the secret. Some bloom earlier or later that others. Check with your local nursery (not a big box store!) to get the same effect. As the early ones start to fade, the later blooming ones are coming alive. Beautiful & makes spring blooming season seem to last longer.😊
Hi Cindy, I read an article recently that said there are many different varieties of daffodils and blooming times can vary by months...some blooming as early as January others as late as May. Perhaps you have a later blooming bulb.
Hi Cindy!
Here are some videos and great information too. Best wishes to you!
