How do I give my lavender bush a boost?

I find that cutting back lavender helps it grow back full and healthy the following season. I live in Ontario, Canada, so I either do this at the end of the summer or in early spring before new growth begins.

If it is woody, wait until it starts to shoot again and take cuttings or it maybe time to re-plant (they don't last for ever).

Hello again, if and you it grows well you trim it correctly each year after it has bloomed. Cut into the green to help it re energize the next year. If you don't prune it back it gets leggy and it does not regenerate from the wood if you cut it back too far. I have made mistakes in the past and have ended up binding my woody stems together to get a Topiary tree look. But each year I take cuttings, just incase it doesn't come through the winter well. Time it lives is dependant on many things.
