How do I revive a plant and flower?

It looks like my lavender plant is not coming back this season. Any suggestions on what I could do to try and revive it? I’m having the same problem with the rosebush 3 feet away from it. The rosebush was my grandmothers and has bloomed every year for over 20 years. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

how to fix the problem is 1st to post the area where you live.. without that there is not much advise to give. what Zone do you live in and where in the country are you located?
My father in law has a ridiculous compost. We make fun of him and his compost. But his garden is insane. I mean he is like dr. Suess with trunkala trees. He credits his successful garden to his composting. Google different things to do. If I were you think about maybe composting . It worked for my crazy father in law.

The area where it's growing, may be too wet. That can cause a fungus that can kill the plant. Here's an article about lavender plants that might help you figure out why you're having a problem. I lost mine last year after a very wet, rainy summer. :( I hope this helps you. Wishing you the best.

yes, Lavender does not like to have wet feet, think about where lavender grows in Italy and France on hill sides be sure the plant is in very well drained soil, you can dig it up dig a hole 2x he size of the root ball use a potting soil in a ratio on 1/2 potting soil and half native soil refill the hole plant the plant with the soil line level with the root ball not too deep and not too shallow water well. I would suggest a cactus mix. the same for the rose, compost well around the plants. hope that helps.
Most likely both are too/have been too wet? How old is your lavender?What kind is it? Most lavender cannot tolerate hard freeze not in your area. Make sure the rose has full sun nothing blocking the rays give it some time it's only Mother Day end of cold season in PA, in a few weeks if you still don't have any new leaves coming out on rose check to see if it's dead on ends trim it back a little at a time to where it's alive. Then follow Katie's "not" crazy father in law and use good organic compost it's the key to healthy soil with good microbes, from that you get healthy beautiful plants,healthy plants fight off pests and disease
