How do I revive my peace lily?
I uprooted a piece by accident. I repotted and it's been in this pot for WEEKS! Leaves are still green, but droopy. I've heavily watered as well as letting the dirt dry out and there is no change.

Hi Natalie, sorry you are having problems with you peace lily. Hope this information helps you. Allow the top inch of potting soil to dry out, and then add room temperature water until the soil is thoroughly moistened. After 20 minutes, empty the saucer under thepot so that the roots aren't sitting in water. Symptoms of overwatering and underwatering are similar and include drooping stems and brown leaf tips.

Less water more often, say twice a week, amount will depend on the size of the plant and the pot. Green leaves is a good sign, drooping might mean it's still in shock. Dont drown the roots! Is the plant pot bound? does it need room to grow in a larger pot? Try watering with a weak solution of plant food like Miracle grow. Weak is the key, plants are very sensitive to chemical balance in their soil. Best idea for that is to buy a gallon of water at the grocery store, add 1/2 the amount directed on the fertilizer package to the water, mix thoroughly and use that once a month to water the plant.
Try also -after following above directions -making a mini-greenhouse of a large clear plastic bag over the whole plants & pot - enclosing the whole she-bang. Do NOT put out in bright direct sun - will scorch. You didn't say if you used rooting hormone - available from
Ace Hardware & probably other hardware & nursery stores - but it helps root anything.
Also potting into too large a pot stops plant growth visible to us - plant spends all its energy filling pot with roots! When re-potting a whole plant, never go up more than the next up size pot.
did it have roots on it at all dig it(piece) back up and see if it's beginning to get roots if not try cutting the leaves off then put back in soil it will heal faster with out the leaves it should be kept on drier side while trying to establish itself so it doesn't rot or you can try to put it in water in vase to get it started.just letting top inch of soil dry is keeping roots too wet plant needs to dry completely then water thoroughly. they can practically wilt from being too dry then water well and will come back. #1 killer of houseplants is overwatering and being fussed with too much.they need bright light
