What can I do to make my flowering sections of my courtyard look nice?

I have an enclosed courtyard with a large fountain in the middle. The area gets full sun. I have several pits of flowering plants, but the area looks messy to me!

  • If they are perennials, they probably need to be thinned. Dig them up and split them at the roots. Share the extras with friends and neighbors!

Flowers are great, but they do require continued upkeep. I always use Caladium...great color and once they go in, no work but watering occasionally. Of course they die out in winter.

Here is a photo of a resin pot (I use them because they are not so heavy) that has variegated ivy and cora bells in it. It sees direct western sun all day and survived the freezing winter and 2 snows. It did not even die down in winter!

Caladium with some small ivy is VERY pretty! I attached a photo of them too!
