    Which direction did you move?

Go online and look up what plants are good in your State. That's what we did.

From the mid west to the west coast. Big difference.

Your best bet is to go to this government site: https://plants.usda.gov/java/

It will give you information on plants that are native to your area and other plants that will tolerate your climate. Happy reading and planting! Make sure you include a picture when you are done, I know I would love to see what you have decided to do!

When we moved to Missouri, I had to look at the zone chart to see if and when I could grow my favorite plants and flowers. After time, I'd see beautiful plants and then became familiar with this area.

first suggestion to when you ask a question for advice all information needs to be given,

what is your hardiness zone? Do you want annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs? What s your lighting structure?

First, learn your zone. Drive around your neighborhood and take note of the thriving plants you like. Go to a local nursery, many have a master gardener on hand. They would be able to give you lots of info about the best indigenous plants.
