You can't beat Hostas. Very low maintenance and come back with a blast every year.
Hostas, Begonias, Caladium, Polka dot plant, Swedish Ivy, Coleus, I even have some beautiful tiger lilies under my trees.
Impatience, Geraniums, and Petunia's. These are a couple that will help you. If you plant a Mary gold between the plants, it will keep away rabbits and other friends who love to eat the plant. They HATE the smell., tho it is lovely.
waxed begonias and impatiens are my favorites. I know they are everywhere but it's hard to beat their bloom in the heat of summer!
Hello. Hostas for sure. There a lot of varieties to choose from. And they come back every year. I love petunias too but they do not come back. I would not use marigolds. They attract bees. I had to learn that the hard way. Hope this helps. Good luck.
