What flowering perinnual will survive shade and sunlight?

Shade perennials....Bleeding hearts,Astilbe,Hosta,Heuchera,Liriope,sedge grass.Shade annuals...New guniea impatience,non-stop begonia,wishbone flower,coleus,Caladium

We have a 27' round above ground pool and we planted different colors of Hosta around the entire pool. When the hosta comes up every year it is gorgeous. It looks like a necklace around the pool. And later it gets those long light purple flowers that all the kids and adults too, like to pinch and hear them pop. Each year the hosta gets fuller and fuller and then we just break them up and plant it elsewhere or we give it to friends and family.

Sounds beautiful. I guess I'm looking for more pop of color than varying shades of green. I don't have hostas but I have some spots that would work well. Do they tolerate the sun?

Astilbe likes the shade and it has a beautiful leaf. Many hydrangea are also shade lovers.

The dwarf astilbe are very good for the front of the bed. mass plant the taller ones for a dramatic display. Go for the feathery variety.

I would be aware of the plant debris that might end up in your pool.

Depends on your zone, but Foxglove is beautiful, and tolerant of sun/shade

I'm in zone 9. Can u also recommend something low growing?
