Hi, June: I live in North Texas and cut back our roses after each blooming. I don't cut them severely, but just so there will be new growth on each stem. This will keep most roses blooming. If you have Knock-out roses, they should have the blooms cut off continuously so there are constant blooms and they don't get taller than you would like!
Hi June, it depends on where you live, but late winter, if your area isn't covered in snow and ice is a safe bet.
Typically done in late winter to early spring depending on where you live. I am in zone 9 and have already pruned mine back. They are leafing out nicely and will have first blooms by Easter.
