Will tulip bulbs survive winter planted in a outdoor flower pot?
I live in upstate New York and know that ground planted tulips will only get eaten during the winter by some cute but hungry critters! I have a large planter (36 in. tall) on an open but roof covered porch. Is it possible to plant them in that pot and have them survive the winter? If yes, should I water it once in a while or should I cover or wrap it with burlap?

They do in the uk even in hard winters
I move my potted tulips bowls into the garage for winter. I drag them out in the spring. I live in MI, They've made it the last 4 winters.
I would not leave them outside in a pot in the winter. Moving them into a garage is a good idea. I would not water them. More than likely--even in a garage--the dirt will be frozen. The water would just freeze.
