Easy
I have a super easy DIY for you - Wide mouth mason jar, Annie Sloan Duck Egg Blue, foam brush, sanding sponge, DecoArt creme wax...potting soil and seeds.
This would be a great first project for someone who wants to jump into DIY but doesn't know where to start.

Paint the outside of the mason jar -a couple of coats should do it. After it dries, sand it just a bit to distress, then wax. It's that easy. If you don't like how it looks after experimenting, just repaint it and start over!
I added the wax over the paint because it will be a planter for herbs. It's part of a giveaway I had in my newsletter for my subscribers.
ASCP is a bit expensive, but it's really nice paint. If you'd like to mix your own chalk type paint, go to the link below and request the PDF by clicking on the picture. I put gathered together 4 popular chalk type paint recipes adding directions and a comparison.
I'm sending the mason jar along with my fave coconut compost and basil seeds to the winner of my giveaway. It's fun to make projects for others. This would make a great secret sister gift or an "I was thinking of you" present. Have you given your mom anything lately, just because?
If you make your own chalk type paint, you can call your project a "Deep Dive DIY!" Get the recipes at the link below (I like the baking soda recipe best and it just happens to be the cheapest - that's probably why I like it!):
Enjoyed the project?
