How to Prune Fruit Trees

by J&J Acres
Pruning fruit trees can seem like a heartless act, especially on young trees.
However, to keep the tree healthy and get the best results it is something we have to do.
Yes, the tree will grow without our help, but the branches will twist and curve in all manner of ways and before we know it there will be branches that do no produce fruit.
What is worse is that those branches are still using up energy reserves that could be going in to making more fruit on the rest of the branches.
In this video I show how I prune our young fruit trees which will be in their third season this year.
Come take a look and offer up your advice and opinions on how you prune and why it works for you!

Good info in the video. Pruning shouldn't be as intimidating as it sometimes seems, and if you step back and take frequent looks as you go you're usually in good shape.
