Luis on Oct 28, 2013It looks like Tibouchina Granulosa or Urvlleana the only problem they are native to Brazil and only grows outdoors in zone 8 and above.Helpful Reply

Mary Alice Sneed on Oct 28, 2013I am familiar with both vinca and spiderwort, and it is neither. Someone else mentioned Tibouchina Granulosa, but I don't think that's it either. The blooms on the plant my neighbor has are single blooms, unlike the photos I've seen of Tibouchina Granulosa.Helpful Reply

Suz Jones on Oct 30, 2013Tibouchina - grows beautifully in Australia, mainly along the east coast. I have had it in my yard in a few houses, absolutely glorious when flowering. In a small town in north New South Wales, a few hours from where I live the have a festival of tibouchina - the whole town is practically filled with these beauties.Helpful Reply
