are they planted in the ground or in pots? What is your location
I would bring them in, or cover them and be prepared to but new ones in the spring. If you bought them in a nusery youcan ask them, as you could have a hardy variety, but I wouldn’t expect hardiness from a supermarket or such.
We live where winters get harsh and ours have been thriving. The snow does not hurt them, in fact it will protect them from the harshest cold when they are covered with snow. Also the snow helps water them in winter when it melts on warmer winter afternoons. We do put mulch around the base of our roses and mini roses to hold the moisture.
Pine straw is grate for flower bed cover
you don't say where you are located; however in southwestern Ontario I leave my miniature roses out through the winter (and I don't cover them)....they come back each year
I have a horse watering trough and I've filled it almost to the top with dirt. So, it is almost like being in the ground. It is also next to the brick house next door so I assume it is somewhat protected. We live in Ogden, Utah.
Pine straw comes from pine trees here in the South but hay will work just fine
Thanks -- sometimes when the snow flies I wish I lived in the south. I did at one time growing up, live in So. California and the weather was lovely.
