Can I plant tomatoes in the same general places each year?

    The same general place, maybe - but you should consider changing the location if you can.

  • Rule of thumb is no, crops should be rotated. But not every home gardener has this option. So in the off season, till and continue to amend the area with good compost so the soil has proper nutrients for the following year.

    I use the same place for the past 3 years, I take care of them , fertilize and water as needed, and they reward me abundantly.

    you should try to rotate crops because of diseases that can still be in the soil from the previous year.

    if you have to be sure to amend the soil or one year there won't be any tomatoes.
