Can you please help to identify this plant? Pea pods ?

We bought a lot that has been vacant for at least 3 yrs. so this hasn't had much water but is thriving. We live in Nevada so it is desert landscaping.
there are several trees that have pods. Desert Mesquite, Desert Willow, Desert Acacia, perhaps Locust tree (the leaves look like Locust)
Not sure. I have something similar and it blooms with pretty yellow flowers and the seed pods get dry and randomly pop hurling the contents everywhere! I call them my snap crackle pop trees . . .
That looks an awful lot like the Siberian Pea Shrub. We had one in our front yard when I lived in Arizona. You can trim it and it will grow into a really pretty tree. The pods will eventually dry out and fall off making quite the mess though. The upside is the birds love the dried pods!
