Can you help me identify this tree?

I have this tree in our yard that recently (May) flowered with beautiful clusters of small white flowers.
Last winters brought it down but maybe I can propagate it and replant elsewhere.
It survives 5B zone's weather (pretty cold, a lot of snow).
Does anyone know which tree species it is?

This appears to me to be a Black Cherry or Choke Cherry tree.

Definitely fruit with the spotted bark, but don't know which fruit! I could be crab apple too!

Looks much like my Montmorency cherries, but your blooms have much longer anthers. I am 5b also; I didn't think black cherries over-wintered. Choke cherries do, but I am not that familiar with them. Black knot fungus a real problem here; check your area for cultural notes/prevention.

Bark says cherry of some sort. The chokecherries I've had had flowers in longer racemes rather than clusters as seen in photo. Might check with your local agricultural extension agent.
