when in dought I'd let it grow some more it might end up being your favorite plant in the garden. Let us know what you find out. You can always take a picture and go to your gardening store maybe they can tell you..

looks like it is going to flower soon, then you will be able to tell what it is. But, I would be willing to bet it's not a weed and maybe a bulb

If it lacks hairs, it might be a daylily. If it has hairs on its stalk, it might be spiderwort (widow's tears). This is sold in garden centers, but is invasive and I pull them out (they tend to break off at the ground, so spraying them might be best.

Hard to tell the size from the photo. Could be a lily of some kind, probably does have flowers, looks familiar, will show to my husband later, he will know

Type of grass in the fescue family. Could certainly be that Reed Grass as stated above. I pull these before anymore seed.

It might be a yarrow lilly looking at pictures on line. This is a perenial lilly that comes back every year. There are so many different types of lilly but not a day lilly for sure. There are even bulbs in lilly form so check to see if it has a bubl down at the root base just move some dirt back.

It looks sort of like a bromeliad but it isn't very green. The way the leaves cover each other on the stalk looks like that of a bromeliad. But where's the color?

I agree. My mom raised a lot of bromeliads, but I have never seen one this pale. Is it not getting sun? They need morning sun (6 hours a day) and water from the top

It does look like a Bromeliad plant, check JustFlowers.com. I think there is one that looks like it....If it is please let me know.

Definitly not a Easter lily or garlic Looks like it could be some kind of lily I don't think a bromeliad would have a bloom come out like thatBut the foliage looks so pale.you will know soon when it blooms

It would help if we knew where this image was taken. It looks like an Allium and I'm guessing a beautiful leek, Allium porrum.

Since nobody really knows the answer I think it looks like a very nice plant I would want and it is a bulb (to the best of my knowledge). Please post when the flower blooms. It looks like something that grows wild in my backyard & it is beautiful like a lily.

BINGO! Bob H, I think you are exactly right. I now recall planting an Allium bulb there last year and this will be the 1st time I get to see what it looks like. I am in zone 7B Willow Spring NC. Thank you so much! I can sleep now! :) Thanks to all that responded. I will post another pic once it blooms. This is such a wonderful site with so many great participants!

it looks like leek from my vegetable garden judging by the way the leaves are set on the stem, but this seems to be more elegant plant, so even though I don't exactly know how Allium porrum looks like, I have also the feeling Bob H is right.

Some Lillis are eatable... Like onions leeks.....and so forth but I would take a photo of it to a green house... Some one will no what it is...
