Possibly? Leucanthemum x superbum Snow Lady shasta daisy white flowers dwarf compact perennial full sun border plant If not, it could be a variation.. Easier to tell when it blooms..
Maybe its Ambrosia artemisiifolia (Common Ragweed)
Looks like Dianthus to me.They bloom in spring. This appears to have buds on it.Dianthus is what your Grandmother called " Pinks"
I'd agree with Dianthus ...there are annual as well as perennials varieties
It is not Artemisia
Looks like a very healthy Dianthus to me as well.
Here is the shrub with the bloom starting to come out
I believe it is a Grass Leaved Goldenrod
I first assumed it was Dianthus (also called Pinks) but it certainly isn't! It looks like a weed to me but there are MANY weeds that are quite pretty. If you like it, leave it where it is. You can easily go on Google and type in: "Photos of Common North American Weeds". (**) You can then scroll through lots of photos until you find a match!
**(Re "North American Weeds", I'm assuming you live in either USA or Canada. If not, change your location when searching Google.)
thanks
are the leaves smoothe or rough, are those flowers
What time of year did it bloom? Looks kind of like the Candytuft I have in one of my flower beds. Candytuft blooms in the early spring in the south...same time as my phlox.
