When I was a lot younger, my Mom had what she called an "Air Plant"; it was in a small hanging basket, and I never saw her tend to it. Does any one know what that plant might have been?

Pam....You can Google or go to a Nursery and talk with someone.

Hello there, Air plants attract the moisture from the air to survive. A list of Airplant and pictures might be obtainable online, just type in Air plant pictures. Good luck!

  • Hi Pam! The other name for Air Plants is Tillandsia. I found mine at Lowes in the indoor plant section (pictured below on the mirror shelf). They're really easy to take care of. The basket I have them sitting in doesn't have soil in it, just some pebbles so they're not sitting directly on the base of the basket. Once a week, although sometimes I forget ;), I place them in a container with just enough water to touch the roots for 30 minutes and then let them dry on a paper towel. In the summer when the humidity level is higher in the house, they don't need watering as often.

    • You're welcome! I've found them for sale on Etsy.com and Ebay if your Lowes doesn't have them. I had the same problem until I found them in the store.
