It looks a little like a begonia to me, but try a plant identification app or site. Here's a link:

The top 1 looks like a sunflower, the bloom will help you figure it out. Not sure about the bottom one.
To me it looks like a Yacon.
A yacon has leafy growth on either side of the stem (first picture). Pl@ntNet says they're both a variety of sunflower (pic 2). IDK whether you have two different varieties or the same with leaves that look different because of the age of the plants. Whatever they are, you should have some nice flowers soon.
kinda isn't a word. kind of....
If you have a smartphone, PlantID is a good app. You can take pictures to a local nursery. It looks like a weed that I've had issues with, have to dig out because it can't be pulled because it will break off.
Begonia
Look it up online in Plant identifier or buy or borrow a good garden Encyclopedia of plants, or take a photo and a leaf down to garden centre!
There is an app you can get for your phone that identifies plants just by taking a photo! Check it out on the App store.
Try using the app called plant snap
Use the plant id called Plantix it will let you know for sure what kind of plant you have.
I used the plant identification app on my phone and it called it a common sunflower. So here in a bit you’ll have a big flower!
If you have an iPhone, look at the picture and there should be a little i in a circle at the bottom. Click that and under the photo it will say "look up" and click that. If not, I find the free app iNaturalist to be very helpful.
