How do I maintain the garden during Fall/Winter?
We just moved into a new home. The previous owners created beautiful gardens in the front and back of the house. There are a lot of plants I don't recognize. I'm not a "gardener", although I love gardens. I'm not sure how to maintain the garden, during the transition of the season, and during the Fall/Winter season so it will look great coming up in the Spring/Summer.

Your County Extension Office can be very helpful with this, if you can't afford a professional landscaper to come out and make specific suggestions / recommendations.
Mine was willing to come out and have a look for free. ...You may have to be patient about the schedules however!
What zone are you in?
Take photos of your existing landscape to the master gardener. They'll identify the plants (take careful notes) and advise how to prepare for winter.
