Topiary top snapped off about a foot from the ground
How do I replant my bougainvillea topiary that broke off?
My Beautiful bougainvillea topiary broke off during a windstorm here in S. FL. Is there anyway I can save it, replant it, etc? I am sick about this....really want to save it somehow.
There are shoots at the base

Hi Debbie, Bougainvilleas are very hardy and when cut back will regrow very quickly. You could add new soil to the pot and simply cut the plant off at the highest point before the break. It likely got too top heavy for the wind and toppled over.
So sorry to see your lovely tree broke off! It should be ok though it will take some time to regrow. It looks like the root is in tact.
Here's some help for you, since your root structure seems to be intact, it should regrow:

The roots seems to be intact, so it will regrow. Sadly, it will be smaller for a while.
Hope this helps:

Hello- it should resprout. I would give it a chance to see how it recovers before discarding or giving up.
I would put a plant growth hormone on the split, pack it with spaghnum moss and seal with layers of plastic wrap. Then take 2 paint sticks, cut down half way, and splint the break using duck tape to secure it until the roots in the air layering have grown sufficiently to repot it.
I agree with Janice that it should regrow since the roots are still ok

Sometimes if you catch it immediately, you can tape it strongly together and it will re connect over time, but most times if t is not successful! Just prune off the top so it is neat and let it grow again.
Just give it some time and love these are great plants that can with stand a lot.
