If you don’t have luck growing from seeds, try using cuts from other succulents. I think they grow faster and stronger. Just cut or pinch stems and plop in dirt. You can also let them dry overnight and plop. This way you spend nothing on seeds or plants if you have friends with succulents to cut from.
Wow! Starting from seed sounds tough! I've had success by just pinching off a piece from an existing plant and placing it in soil. Avoid overwatering, as they'll get mushy and not survive the transplant.
