Be very careful with bamboo. It is considered very invasive. In fact, in some places it's illegal to grow it. Your best bet, after checking your local laws, your best bet is to grow them in containers or use the clumping type and keep them trimmed. Although bamboo is beautiful I have never grown it, neighbor has it in her backyard and it is growing everywhere. Not sure who planted it but, wow, it takes off. Good luck to you.

Unless you're planning on harvesting it for cooking or woodworking projects, think of something else to plant. Once started it's virtually impossible to get rid of.
